So we priced it. Every Stake Original, every common configuration, one dollar a bet, sixty minutes on the clock. The answer is a number nobody publishes, and it turns out to be the most useful number in the building. The same one percent house edge produces an hourly bill ranging from a dollar seventy-seven to thirty-six dollars. Twenty times apart. Same edge, same mathematics, same casino, same night.
The gap is not luck and it is not the game. It is tempo, meaning how many times per hour the edge gets applied to your money. Which makes the most expensive decision of your evening something other than which game you open: it is the button that decides how fast the game asks you for the next bet. Same game. Same rows, same risk setting, same multiplier table, same verified return to player. The turbo toggle does not touch a single one of those things. What it changes is how often the edge gets a turn, and the edge does not need luck, so more turns is simply more cost. Six times the tempo, six times the bill.
The experience follows the money. Across twenty thousand simulated turbo hours, only 13.6 percent finished ahead, and the ninetieth-percentile hour, meaning a good one, cleared just six dollars and forty cents. A player on turbo is not gambling harder. He is paying an admission surcharge for the privilege of finding out faster.
Tonight’s Cast: Eleven Ways to Spend an Hour
Eleven seats, one starting eleven. Each player is a real configuration with a real price, and every one of them pays the identical one percent. The formation is decided entirely by tempo, which is the only thing on this page you personally control.
THE CAPTAIN. The cheapest hour in the building at a dollar seventy-seven, and here is the joke: it is cheap because it is greedy. Waiting for a ten means the rounds fly longer, which means fewer rounds per hour, which means fewer times the edge gets a turn. Patience is not a virtue here, it is a discount. It also happens to be the most thrilling seat in the house - eighty percent of hours land between minus forty-seven and plus fifty-three - and it wins slightly more hours than it loses. Cheapest and wildest at once. The armband is not close.
Twelve careful clicks per game keeps the tempo down to 240 games an hour and the bill down to two forty. The slow defender who costs almost nothing because he simply does not touch the ball very often.
The everyday order, and the seat our streak audit was built on. 283 rounds an hour, two eighty-three an hour, and the tightest crash band on the board. Predictable in the way a season-ticket holder is predictable.
Middle of everything: middle tempo, middle price, middle spread. Unremarkable is a compliment in a defence. Four eighty an hour and no surprises in either direction.
Six dollars an hour, and the gentlest ride on the board - eighty percent of hours land inside a thirty-five dollar window. Only 31.7 percent of hours finish ahead, though, which is the low-risk paradox our Plinko report priced in full: small losses arrive constantly, and constant beats large.
The same six dollars an hour as his low-risk twin, and a completely different evening. Eighty percent of hours land between minus a hundred and nineteen and plus a hundred and eight. Identical bill, six times the drama. Proof that cost per hour tells you what the night costs, not what it feels like.
THE GRINDER, and the cruellest line in the study. He wins 96 percent of his individual bets. He wins 5.0 percent of his hours. His entire eighty-percent band is underwater, from minus fifteen forty-eight to minus a dollar and six cents - he is the only player on this page who essentially cannot win an hour, only lose one slowly. Win rate is marketing. The hour is the product.
One click, one second, repeat. Nine hundred bets an hour is the natural pace of a game with no animation to wait through, and nine dollars an hour is what that speed costs. Nothing is wrong with Dice. Dice is just fast, and fast is the expensive part.
Dice with different scenery and an identical fare. Same tempo, same nine dollars, same spread to the dollar. Two games that feel unrelated and bill identically is the whole thesis in one substitution.
THE DREAMER. Median hour: exactly zero dollars. Eighty percent of hours land between minus four hundred and plus four hundred. Same nine dollar expected bill as the boring 2x seat beside him, and an evening from another planet. The expected cost is a fact about the long run; the spread is what you will actually remember.
THE RED CARD. Thirty-six dollars an hour, twenty times the captain, for the same game the captain would recognise instantly. Only 13.6 percent of hours finish ahead. Fifty dollars lasts eighty-four minutes. There is no strategy here to argue with - just a toggle that multiplies the meter by six and changes nothing else at all.
What Fifty Dollars Buys
The most practical way to read the whole table. A fifty dollar entertainment budget, one dollar a bet, no strategy, no system, just how long the edge takes to eat it on average. This is the number to think in, because it is the number that decides whether an evening was worth it.

Average duration at a dollar a bet. Variance moves any individual night in both directions - our streak audit found sixteen losses in a row inside the real Crash corpus - but the ordering never changes, because the ordering is arithmetic.
Cost Is the Mean. Spread Is the Memory.
Two seats can bill identically and produce completely different nights. The two Plinko players above both cost six dollars an hour; one of them lives inside a thirty-five dollar window and the other swings across two hundred and twenty-six. The Limbo dreamer costs the same nine dollars as the Limbo grinder next to him and has a median hour of exactly zero, because a target of a hundred turns most hours into a small loss and a few into a fortune.
So read both columns. Cost per hour tells you what the evening will cost across a season of evenings. The spread tells you what any single one of them will feel like. The players who get people into trouble are the ones where those two numbers point in opposite directions - a cheap hourly rate with an enormous tail, or a comfortable win rate that quietly never wins an hour.
The Projectionist’s Note
Method, in full. The cost figure is arithmetic: bets per hour times stake times the one percent edge, and it needs no simulation to be true. The hour distributions come from twenty thousand simulated hours per seat, using the real payout tables from our own datasets: the Plinko multiplier tables validated across fifteen million balls, the Mines survival mathematics from all three hundred solved board states, and closed-form probabilities for Dice and Limbo. The Crash hours are not simulated at all - they are sampled directly from the 500,000 genuine rounds we reconstructed from the public fairness chain.
One assumption is stated rather than measured, and it matters, so here it is in the open: tempo. Crash pace is derived from the real multiplier distribution, since a round that flies to ten takes longer than one that dies at two, plus a betting window and a reset. The other pace figures are reasonable manual-play rates, not laws of physics. If you play faster than our assumption, your bill is higher than our table in exact proportion. That is not a weakness in the method. That is the finding.
