Definition of Advantage Player
What does the term "advantage player" mean in the world of casinos? What is meant by an "advantage player"?
An "advantage player" is somebody who is LEGALLY able to gain an edge over the casino.
While advantage players are not doing anything illegal, casinos are well within their rights to deny them access to their casino.
Once the clearest examples of an "advantage player" is when Phil Ivey used edge sorting to gain an advantage over both Crockfords and the Borgata in the game of Baccarat. Both casinos allege that Ivey had cheated them, and both casinos won their court cases against Ivey.
Ivey, however, maintained his innocence all along.
Other examples of an "advantage player":
1) Somebody who is able to count cards in blackjack. It's not illegal, though casinos will ban you if you are caught
2) Somebody who is able to control their dice throw in a game like craps. Again, not illegal, though certainly frowned upon by the casino.

Casinos HATE advantage players and will almost certainly ban them when they are found out.
